In January 1994, Kawasaki Port signed a friendship agreement with Da Nang Port, Vietnam which is also a trading port.

Starting fiscal year 1995, every year two Da Nang Port related persons are trained at Kawasaki Port in port facility management and construction technology. Since 1997, Kawasaki City has sent engineers from the Port Authority to Da Nang Port to provide guidance on construction such as seawalls. Exchange of human resources and information for the development of both ports is carried out every two years.

In March 2004, "Kawasaki Port and Da Nang Port Friendship Confirmation" was signed to add technology, information, and trade promotion to the relationship and bring benefits to both ports.
