1. Maintenance and promotion of use of Kawasaki Port (Projects for public interest – 1)

Projects to enhance international competitiveness of Kawasaki Port and to promote its use

1. Promoting maintenance of port facilities and improving its operation in order to strengthen the international competitiveness of the port

We cooperate with City of Kawasaki, Port & Harbor Bureau to set up an office for "User-Friendly Kawasaki Port Promotion Council" organized by related public and private organizations. We identify issues about international competitiveness reinforcement and promotion of use and discuss and examine the solution to issues concretely, promoting maintenance and operational improvement (except container terminal.)

2. Port sales activity (Collection of ocean cargo and invitation of the mother vessel)

(1) Projects related to "Kawasaki Port Strategy Promotion Council"

Kawasaki Port Strategy Promotion Council consists of four organization: City of Kawasaki, The Kawasaki Chamber Commerce and Industry, Kawasaki Harbor Transport Association and Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Kawasaki Port Promotion Association.
We study issues and measures for further development of the Kawasaki Port Container Terminal and aim for collection of cargo and improvement of service levels.
The President of the council was served by Mr. Fumio Saito of Chairman of the Kawasaki Port Promotion Association, and the council has two subcommittees (Port sales subcommittee/Facility planning subcommittee) which is execution unit of the council.
The Kawasaki Port Promotion Association act as the secretariat of the port sales subcommittee and join as a member of facility planning subcommittee.

(2) Projects related to Keihin 3 ports wide area cooperation:Based on port of Keihin 3 wide area cooperation, we held Keihin Port seminar by 9 group which consist of each harbor management office, port promotion association and wharf company in Kawasaki, Yokohama and Tokyo.

(3) Projects related to unique port sales by Kawasaki Port Promotion Association:We carry out the information exchange by corporate visit, the research on container related measures of other ports, and logistics fact-finding survey of Kawasaki Port.

3. Ceremony of welcome for first port entry by ship

We promote Kawasaki Port by presenting souvenirs to the crew of a ship entering Kawasaki Port for the first time, and showing the will of the welcome.

4. International exchange Projects (Interchange with port of friendship, friendship cities)

When delegations visit Kawasaki City from the abroad ports including Da Nang Port in Vietnam and Lianyungang Port in China which are ports of friendship of Kawasaki City, we cooperate with port related organizations and economic organizations to implement exchange projects to deepen mutual understanding and promote trade.

5. Production and sales of "Port of Kawasaki Guidebook"

We have produced a “Port of Kawasaki guidebook” which contains map describing port facilities and company names in Kawasaki port area,administrative agencies, facility usage fees, statistical materials etc.
This guidebook is used for port sales activity and distributed to users of Kawasaki port
